How to limit your Gale OneFile search results to "Nursing Journals"

Once you have typed your initial search terms into a Gale OneFile Advanced Search field, you can limit your search results to "nursing journals." This is achieved, as pictured below, by typing the term nurs* in one of the other Gale OneFile Advanced Search fields and using the corresponding Field dropdown menu to select Publication Title. This search strategy will return results from publications (journals or magazines, etc.) that contain any one of the words nurse, nurses, or nursing in their titles.

To further limit your search, you may include any of the Search Options from the menus that appear below the Gale OneFile Advanced Search fields. Recommended Search Options include the following:

  • Peer Reviewed Journals – Limits search results to articles from peer-reviewed journals. Peer-reviewed journals are publications that include only those articles that have been reviewed and/or qualified by a selected panel of acknowledged experts in the field of study covered by the journal.

  • By Publication Date(s) – Use these options to search for articles within a specified date range.
