The book club selections for Fall semester 2020 were pitched and selected by the members of the club:

September 1, 12-1 pm: The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides - online through Zoom.

Pitch:
The Silent Patient is a psychological thriller with shocking twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It has been referred to as a mix of Hitchcockian suspense, Agatha Christie plotting, and Greek tragedy.


October 6, 12-1 pm: Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng - online through Zoom.

Pitch:
This gripping and moving portrait of an Asian-American family in small-town Ohio supposedly tackles issues such as family secrets, expectations, love, loss, longing, and racism. It has been hailed for its stunning prose, vibrant three-dimensional characters, and intricate plot.

November 10, 12-1 pm: I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid - online through Zoom.

Pitch:
This debut novel (an international bestselling psychological horror/thriller, translated into more than a dozen languages, and being adapted to film) starts out with a couple on a road trip were we soon see that one of them is "thinking of ending things. Once this thought arrives, it stays. It sticks. It lingers. It’s always there. Always." Fair warning, the back cover of the book promises: "You will be scared. But you won't know why..."
