Through Northwood Tech and Wisconsin's online library, you have access to many different databases and different types of databases.

Starting Points

For starting off your research, these are useful databases to use for any topic:

Academic Articles:

  • Use the large search box right at the top of the database page. It covers multiple - but not all - databases and a wide variety of topics.

Books

Current Events or Debates

Further Exploration

If you would like to explore other databases for more resources, it might be helpful to consider it to be like online shopping.

If you were shopping for books, you might want to go to an online bookshop. For clothing, you might want to go to a specific brand's website. For college supplies, you might go to Northwood Tech's online store. For a variety of items, you might try an online retail store.

It's similar with databases. There are databases that specialize a type of resource - such as books, videos, articles. There are also databases that specialize in a subject - vehicles, medicine, current events.

Selecting which database you would like to use is like selecting a store that you would like to get your articles, books, and other resources from. Browse the popular and video databases or the lists of Northwood Tech and BadgerLink databases on the research database page.
