East Greenwich High School Library: Student Publishing

1. Make sure the publication fits your style. Submitting your best work takes time and effort so make sure your piece fits their audience.
2. Revise, revise, revise.  Use all of the strategies your teachers have shown you over the years to present your best work possible.  Ask other writers to read and provide feedback about your work.  Good writers produce a number of drafts.
3. Take your time.  
4. Expect rejection. Some sites allow you to self-publish but many only publish work that has been editor-selected.  Your work is being compared to hundreds of other artists and writers.  A few publications offer comments on your work so as tough as it might be, take their feedback seriously and learn from it.
