OverDrive Overview

OVERDRIVE

The Hanover High School library now has OverDrive!

What is OverDrive?
OverDrive is an online library where students can borrow ebooks and audiobooks.

How do I read or listen to OverDrive books?
There are several ways to read or listen to OverDrive books including: in a browser, with the
free OverDrive app or on a Kindle.

What books are on OverDrive?
The books in the HHS Library OverDrive are books selected by school libraries throughout
New Hampshire, so there are a variety of titles, genres, and reading levels, from pre-K to adult. The titles update continually throughout the year and titles can be requested for the library to purchase within OverDrive.

Why OverDrive?
OverDrive let’s you be in charge of your reading and listening. Your public libraries, The
Howe and Norwich Public Library also have OverDrive, but those accounts are shared with the entire state and so some popular titles have long wait lists. Because the HHS OverDrive account is shared by only school libraries, you have a greater likelihood of finding the titles you want and of finding titles available without a wait or with only a short wait. Titles of books used in our classes are specially reserved for just HHS students so they will be there when you need them.

Who can use the Hanover High School OverDrive?
Any current HHS staff or student. If you are no longer a HHS student or staff member, check
with your local library for their Overdrive information.

What if the book I want to read isn’t in OverDrive or isn’t in the format I want?
If you search for the title and it is not in the system, you can select the “Request This Title”
and submit a request to the Hanover High School librarian. While we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet all requests, we will do our best to fulfill reasonable requests.
