Library Service Point: Reserve a Carrel/Locker

Carrel Reservation Policies

• All SOM, GSN, GSBS students are eligible to use the carrels, located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Library.
• Please reserve the carrel you'd like to use in the online reservation system.
  • Carrels can be reserved up to 5 days in advance.
  • Single carrels can be reserved for up to 6 hours at a time.
  • Reservations may be made for up to 40 hours per week.
• Be mindful of the needs of your peers. Reserve only the hours that you need. If you do not need your remaining hours, you can cancel the reservation.
• If you would like to store your belongings, please check out a locker key at the Library Service Point.

Library 1st Floor & Second Floor: Not quiet study:  zoom or phone calls are allowed.

Library 3rd Floor:  Quiet study, please no virtual meetings, phone use, or socializing on the third floor.

Carrel Rules:

1. Max capacity for each carrel is one person.
2. You are responsible for sanitizing the carrel and removing all belongings.
3. Eating and covered beverages are allowed in the Library.
4. Do not block the entrance of carrels in any way.
5. Do not leave laptop computers or other valuable items unattended anywhere in the Library - thefts have occurred in the past. The Library is not responsible for items that are damaged in or stolen from the carrels.
6. All the end of the semester anything items left will be collected and thrown away.

Locker Checkout Policies

• All School of Medicine, Graduation School of Nursing, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences students are eligible to checkout locker keys, located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Library.
• Check out a Locker Key at the Library Service Point:
  • Fall Semester Key Loans:  Due December 30th
  • Spring Semester Key Loans:  Due June 30th

Locker Keys will be available to check out for the fall semester beginning Monday, September 8th. Stop by the Library front desk to checkout a key in-person the week of September 8-12 (schedule below). After that, please submit your request for a locker key through Ask a Librarian and we will coordinate pickup with you.

• Monday September 8th 12:00-1:00pm
• Tuesday September 9th 7:00 – 8:30am, 12:00-1:00pm
• Wednesday September 10th 12:00-1:00pm
• Thursday September 11th 7:00-8:30am, 12:00-1:00pm
• Friday September 12th 7:00-8:30am, 12:00-1:00pm

Locker Rules:

• Only lock library materials in your locker if they are checked out to you.
• You are responsible for keeping your locker clean and free of trash.
• The Library assumes no responsibility for items that are damaged or stolen from the lockers.
• If a locker key is not returned at the end of the loan period, your items will be removed from the locker and you will be fined a $10 key replacement fee.
