General Information

General Policies

  • Masks are optional in the Medical School Building.
  • Badge access for eligible patrons available 24/7.
  • Identification badges must be worn at all times.
  • Members of the public may use the library on an appointment basis. Please use the "Ask a Librarian" button above to arrange a visit.
  • The first and second floors of the Library can be used for studying and for Zoom calls.
  • The third floor of the Library is strictly for quiet study.  Please, no Zoom, phone use, or socializing on the third floor.

Food and Beverages

  • Beverages are allowed in non-spill containers such as travel mugs, water bottles, etc.
  • Keurig Station is available: BYO beverage container, K Cups, sweetener, and milk.  If you would like hot water, use the Keurig hot water feature.

Gifts

  • The library is not accepting book/journal donations at this time.
  • Monetary gifts to the library are always welcome.

Whiteboards

  • There are mobile large whiteboards and supplies available throughout the library. Please do not use whiteboards to block carrel entrances. Patrons are responsible for cleaning the whiteboards.

Library Floor Map

This image is a floor map of the library, showing designated study areas and bathrooms. The elevators are located on the right side of the library. Men's bathrooms are located in the left-hand stairwell. Women's bathrooms are located on the right-hand stairwell. Gender neutral bathrooms are available down the hall from the library entrance.

Carrel Policies

Carrel Policies

  • All library patrons are eligible to use the carrels, located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Library.
  • Carrels are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If you would like to store your belongings, please check out a locker key at the Library Service Point.

Library 1st Floor & Second Floor: Not quiet study:  zoom or phone calls are allowed.

Library 3rd Floor:  Quiet study, please no virtual meetings, phone use, or socializing on the third floor.

 

Carrel Rules:

  1. Max capacity for each carrel is one person.
  2. You are responsible for sanitizing the carrel and removing all belongings.
  3. Eating and covered beverages are allowed in the Library.
  4. Do not block the entrance of carrels in any way.
  5. Do not leave laptop computers or other valuable items unattended anywhere in the Library - thefts have occurred in the past. The Library is not responsible for items that are damaged in or stolen from the carrels.
  6. All the end of the semester anything items left will be collected and thrown away.
