Basic Things to Know About Scheduling Meetings in Microsoft Teams

Meetings in Teams are housed under the "Calendar" Tab.  It includes audio, video, and content sharing.  You don't need to be a member of an organization or even have a Teams account to join a Teams meeting.

Schedule a Teams meeting from Outlook:

Open Outlook and select Calendar. Click on New Event at the top of the view.

The Teams Meeting will be enabled as soon as you add an attendee to your meeting.

To invite attendees, click on Invite Attendees and start typing their name(s) to locate them in the active directory*. Add your meeting subject, location, start and end time.  Then click Send.

*You can also invite people from outside your organization from Outlook. Just be sure to type in their full email address.

Schedule a Microsoft Teams meeting from Microsoft Teams:

  • In your Teams application, click on "Calendar"
  • Click on + New meeting
  • Fill in the details about your meeting and click Send
