To quickly grade assignments, discussion boards, and exam by using the "Needs Grading" link from Grade Center.

  • From the left navigation, expand "Grade Center"
  • Click on "Needs Grading"
  • Go up to the gray bar menu, click on "Grade All" to grade all submitted work in order
  • Or, click on a students name under "User Attempt" to grade specific items

From the grade assignment window you can view a student's submission (if supported), download a copy of their submission, and grade the attempt.  If you created a grading rubric within Blackboard for a particular assignment, you can view the rubric from the assignment window and quickly run through the student's work.

After you enter in the points earned, click "Submit", and the next assignment will load.

While in the "Full Grade Center" , you can follow across the grading columns.  If a student has made an attempt at an assignment or test that requires you to manually grade it, you will see a small yellow circle with an explanation point.  Click on the circle to grade the assignment.

You can create a Rubric to help with grading assignments quickly and effectively. Rubrics can be created individually for each assignment or you can have a "Master" rubric to apply to each assignment type.
