When you have a new section of a course added to Blackboard, you don't have to re-create your course from scratch.  You can export all the content you made for one course and import it into a new one.

  1. From the My Institution page in Blackboard -- go to the course that has all the content already created.
  2. With the course open -- go down to "Packages and Utilities"
  3. Click on "Export/Archive Course"
  4. In the grey menu bar, click on "Export Package"
  5. Under "File Attachments" -- Leave the default selections of copying links and including copies of files
  6. Put a check-mark next to any item you'd like to export
  7. When finished, hit "Submit" at the bottom of the page
  8. You will receive an email once the export process is complete (could take a few hours)
  9. Once you've received the email, go back to My Institution in Blackboard
  10. Open your new empty course
  11. Go to "Packages and Utilities"
  12. Click on "Import Package"
  13. In the grey menu bar -- Click on "Import Package"
  14. Under "Select a package" -- Click on "Browse My Computer" and select the file you just downloaded
  15. Scroll down to "Select Course Materials" and check-mark any items you'd like to import into this course
  16. When finished -- Click on "Submit"
  17. Again you need to wait for an email that the process has been completed

Once you receive an email, all the content you wanted to copy to the new course should be ready to go.
