Access Industry Information Sources
- Standard and Poor's NetAdvantage: Industry Surveys
S&P's Industry Surveys covers 50+ major U.S. industries. Each survey covers: industry trends and 'how the industry operates.' To access, use the "Industry Surveys" drop-down box, or the "Industry" tab.
- First Research (Hoovers) This link opens in a new windowProvides industry profiles, grouped into 11 sectors (for example: Recreation; Retail; Food & Agriculture; Services; and Technology & Communications). Many profiles cover businesses not readily found in other sources; there are also state & province profiles.
- MergentOnline: Industry Reports
Mergent is primarily used to find company financial information, however it also has industry reports, which cover industries in North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. (To locate: From the opening screen, choose the Industry Analysis tab. Sawyer Library has a license for three simultaneous users, therefore please "log out" when you have completed your research. - Euromonitor International: Passport

S&P NetAdvantage: Industry Surveys
The Industry Surveys, a well known publication produced by Standard & Poor's (S&P), covers 50+ different industries / sectors. They provide detailed overviews of each of the covered areas.
In addition to "Biotechnology", there is a "Software" industry survey. Companies may also need to know about industries they offer services to, i.e. consumer finance, healthcare, etc...
