Update to Passports at HPL

Passport services at HPL have been resumed by appointment only.

  • HPL does not offer passport renewal services for adults or 1-2 day delivery service.
  • Appointment hours are from 9:00AM to 3:00PM from Monday to Friday at the Dwight Branch Library. 
  • If you are looking to schedule an appointment or have any questions regarding this service, please contact us at (860) 695-1494 and leave a call back number.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR PASSPORTS

 

Please Read Carefully

 

  • Hartford Public Library is now accepting applications for new adult passports or new/renewals of children's (under 16) passports with processing times of 2-3 weeks expedited and 6-8 weeks routine. If you are an adult and wish to renew, you must apply by mail through USPS (follow link to renew).  

  • If you need emergency travel, or require a passport sooner than 7 weeks, please call the Passport Agency at 1-877-487-2778 and 1-888-874-7793 for Spanish or hearing impaired.

  • If you wish to make an appointment for a new passport, please call 860-695-1494 or email passports@hplct.org to speak with the scheduling agent. 

  • Appointments are limited by availability.

  • To keep appointments as brief as possible, all forms must be filled out before your scheduled appointment. 

  • Please arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible.  If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the appointment is automatically canceled, and you must call to reschedule.
