Update to Passports at HPL

Passport services at HPL have been resumed by appointment only.

  • HPL does not offer passport renewal services for adults or 1-2 day delivery service.
  • Appointment hours are from 9:00AM to 3:00PM from Monday to Friday at the Dwight Branch Library.

Requirements

  • Check or Money Order for payment to US Department of State for passport (see "Fees" on left to determine application pricing)
  • Second payment to the Hartford Public Library ($35 can be card, credit or debit)
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship: Original (or Certified Copy) of Long form Birth Certificate or Original Naturalization Certificate
  • Photo ID: Driver’s License, Passport or Military ID and a photocopy of your ID front and back
  • One recent 2x2 color photograph: $15 on-site (includes two.  Payment can be card or check to the Hartford Public Library
  • Applicants 16-17 need at least one parent present.
  • Applicants under age 16: Three Options:
    • Both parents must appear together and sign; or
    • One parent appears, signs, and submits second parent's notarized statement of consent along with a valid ID (see Statement of Consent under "Forms" page); or
    • One parent submits primary evidence of sole custody to apply.
