Module 1: Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development

Objective: Students will be able to discuss Piaget's four stages of Cognitive Development.

Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development
Cognition refers to thinking and memory processes, and cognitive development refers to long-term changes in these processes. One of the most widely known perspectives about cognitive development is the cognitive stage theory of a Swiss psychologist named Jean Piaget.

Module 2: Erikson's 8 Stages of Psychosocial Development and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Objective: Students will be able to discuss Erikson's eight stages of Psychosocial Development and its cultural impact. Students will be able to identify the five levels of development in Maslow's Hierarch of Needs.

Social development refers to the long-term changes in relationships and interactions involving self, peers, and family. It includes both positive changes, such as how friendships develop, and negative changes, such as aggression or bullying.

Module 3: Major Theories & Models of Learning

Objective: Students will be able to identify two other major theories of child development.

Major Theories and Models of Learning
Several ideas and priorities, then, affect how we teachers think about learning, including the curriculum, the difference between teaching and learning, sequencing, readiness, and transfer. The ideas form a “screen” through which to understand and evaluate whatever psychology has to offer education.

Module 4: Behaviorism

Objective: Students will be able to describe the major contributions to the development of behaviorism.

Behavioral Psychology
Behaviorism is an approach to psychology that focuses on observable behaviors that people learn from their environments.
